Home Visits
I will willingly conduct lessons in your home or, if you prefer, another convenient and suitable location such as a local library or even a coffee house. Naturally I can only do this if you live reasonably close to my own home in South-West Hertfordshire. In practice, this means the towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Harpenden, Chesham, Amersham and Tring, together with the surrounding villages and the nearer parts of St Albans and Watford. The approximate area I cover is shown on the map, but some directions provide easier travel than others so please treat it as a very rough guide.
Online Lessons
Online lessons used to be regarded as less satisfactory than face-to-face tuition but that attitude has changed dramatically since lockdowns as people have become more accustomed to the possibilities of online meetings. I use Zoom to deliver lessons as I find it has more than adequate facilities for all that I need.
Students will need access to a PC, laptop or tablet. Mobile phones have too small a screen to work well. They will also need to have downloaded the Zoom application. Only the basic, free version is necessary. You can download it using this link:
You will need to provide me with an email address, to which the student has access, so that I can send a link to the lesson a few minutes before it is due to start. Clicking on that link is all that needs to be done to join me for the lesson.

Lessons usually last one hour but other lengths are available if you wish.

Online Lessons: £50.00 per hour
Home Visits: £60.00 per hour (inclusive of travel expenses)
